It's good to see the Premier Steve Bracks is starting to spend that promised $72 million in government funding for cycling facilities (at least, I suppose it's part of that wedge), with the commitment of over $1 million to close gaps in Franskton end of the Bay Trail. According to Bike Vic the project "will close a critical missing link in the Bay Trail and will be well used by recreational and commuter riders".

The City of Kingston has a fairly content-free project web page but watch that space because they reckon that plans will be available there "soon". Meanwhile, BV has released Kingston's "Bay Trail Sectioning and Staging Plan" as a downloadable PDF file that gives a few clues as to what's in the pipeline. And at a glance, it looks pretty good.
