I rather liked this mudguard hack.

It looks like some kind of foam offcut, a bit of heat applied to give it a bend in the right spot and held in place by ever-reliable masking tape.
It probably doesn’t work all that well when things get really stormy, but it’s just so rough-and-ready that I couldn’t walk past without taking a snapshot.
I can’t imagine it standing up to a Manchester downpour…
The bike looks to be looked after and in surprisingly good fettle to sport such a hack, imo.

I ride to work regularly and have the problem of a wet bum and back.
