Albert St separated bike lanes, but that's no reason why I shouldn't have a damn good rant about it.
The "Copenhagen-style" bike lanes in Swanston Street are nowhere near as safe as you might think.

Despite the objections of local traders, I don't see how bike lanes on Wantirna Rd will adversely effect their livelihoods. And it certainly won't hurt to have a bit of traffic-calming along there.
Work on installing Copenhagen-style bicycle lanes in Swanston St is set to commence by the end of this year.
Whatever you think about bike lanes, they should not be shared with motorised vehicles--even our motorcyclist friends.
