Over the last three weeks I’ve been delighted to record no cyclist deaths on the road. But there have been injuries to four cyclists – all aged between 10 and 14. Let’s hope they’re all well on the way to full recovery.
Over the last fortnight I have recorded media reports of seven road accidents involving cyclists. There were five injuries to cyclists (three of whom were minors) and one cyclist death. The final accident involved a collision between a pedestrian and a cyclist in which the pedestrian died.
Perth is heading for traffic chaos in the next few decades. But a recent commuter challenge shows the bike is already a viable option.
