Oops, sliding into the old habits again…
‘Treadly and Me’ spluttered inauspiciously into life on 1 January 2006. So as the year draws to a close, this provides me with the excuse to ruminate on what was and what may be…in this little corner of the web, at least.
Well its been nearly 13 weeks since construction work commenced on the upgrade to the Dandenong Creek Trail in the Koomba Park area, as part of the Eastlink project, and for the past 7 weeks the Trail has been closed between Boronia Road and Mountain Hwy.
While improvements are being made to the Dandenong Creek Trail along Eastlink, cyclists will need a mountain bike to get through the detour. The trouble is, not all commuters ride mountain bikes…

With a state election approaching, I’ve got to ask: what’s in it for the commuting cyclist?
Despite the objections of local traders, I don’t see how bike lanes on Wantirna Rd will adversely effect their livelihoods. And it certainly won’t hurt to have a bit of traffic-calming along there.
A rider has identified concerns about the suitability of the cycling facilities to be installed as a part of the EastLink project.
What else is Eastlink doing on the bike trails front?
It looks like the Dandenong Creek trail won’t be too badly disrupted by the construction of Eastlink.
