Speedlinking 22 December 2007

Saturday 22nd Dec 2007 at 10:27 am by Treadly and Me

I haven’t been stranded on a broken down train since my last effort, so it must be safe for me to speedlink…

Classhic, maite, classhic
I don’t know how I missed this excellent Alpine Classic video:
Incidentally, my preparations are going very badly, thanks for asking…
Utility cycling
I’ve just had a quick look at Steve Litt’s Guide to Transportational Bicycling and it seems to cover the essentials of utility cycling. Should be a good read.
The Practical Pedal is a good looking new-ish online magazine, billing itself as the “journal of practical bicycling”. So I guess that’s all sorts of stuff on urban and utility cycling. Cool.
Arty
The Safety is Sexy Campaign has made a call for submissions to artists to create work based on the phrase ‘You’d look hotter in a helmet.’ Sounds good, but do you reckon we can rise above pictures of attractive young women dressed only in their skid lids? [via UrbanVelo]
Would this work?
Anti-theft stickers to make your nice new wheels look older and battered, so that thief won’t give it a second look.
Cerevellum “integrates all cycling computer functions in an expandable and simplified format”, so far so good. “Unique to the Cerevellum system is the HindSight digital rear-view mirror”—what the…?
[Thanks Tom for both of these]
Bicygnals—front and rear lights with integrated turning indicators. Probably more visible than a hand signal in the dark.
I still deny having an unhealthy fixation with mudguards, but here’s something from the “obvious now that someone’s thought of it” basket: inflatable fenders.
Movember
I forgot to mention earlier that Movember raised $13,422,716 in Australia alone. I’m happy to report that the Mo Bros of Treadly and Me raised a bit over $1000 of that. Thanks to everyone who chipped-in.
