Melbourne Summer Cycle
Apparently Melbourne has a brand new massed bike ride: the Melbourne Summer Cycle.
How did I miss this one? The Melbourne Summer Cycle—a fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis Australia—is on next weekend:
It’s Australia’s newest one day bike ride in Australia’s most cycle friendly city. On Sunday 25 February pedal your place into cycling history by joining the first Melbourne Summer Cycle.
It has two routes of 30km and 40km around Melbourne, and looks more than a little reminiscent of the now defunct Great Melbourne Bike Ride (including a crossing of the Westgate Bridge). See the route map for more info.
Big massed rides like this aren’t really my cup o’ tea, so maybe I wasn’t tuned-in. No doubt there’s been plenty of publicity, but I missed it all until I saw a flyer at my local library (of all places!) this morning.
Anyways I just thought I’d mention it—a good cause and all that…
