If this thing gets a commerical release then latte-drinking bicycle-clipped vegetarians of North Fitzroy and East St Kilda
will be able to enjoy their favourite headwear and comply with the road rules. Talk about a win-win situation!
Fortunately the design is unlikely to get past the status of conceptual artwork—the helmet companies don’t appear to be beating a path to the door of designer Ondrej Stanek: At first, they looked like they might be interested but not anymore.

It’s probably better the pieces remain just sculpture after all. In the end, what self-respecting cyclists would really want to admit to flipping over the handlebars with nothing on their heads but a plastic beret?

Heh, I reckon they look like a great idea… but that may only be because I despise bicycle helmets anyway. Mostly for the compulsory imposition.
I’d have a bright orange one, anyway.
