What of human decency?
Of all the crimes and offences that can happen on the road, surely fleeing and leaving your victim for dead is the most craven and offensive of all.
I despair. Really I do.
Do people really have to be taught that if you hit someone with your car you don’t just piss off? I’d have thought that it’s obvious: bugger the law – basic human decency requires that you stay and render assistance.
Well, it seems that a cyclist was denied this simple human decency when he was killed in a hit-and-run incident on the Gold Coast this morning.
Of all the crimes and offences that can happen on the road, surely fleeing and leaving your victim for dead is the most craven and offensive of all.
