&lt;p&gt;It was with some annoyance that I found that we hadn&#039;t taken nearly as many photos of cyclists and bicycles as I&#039;d thought. Next time we travel I think we&#039;ll be more diligent about that.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Part of the problem is that bikes whip past so quickly - you need to be ready, which is why Domela&#039;s idea is so good: just sit in a good vantage point and wait for them to roll by. When I think of the colourful variety of cyclists we saw in our street alone - mothers laden down with kids and shopping, young suits, old grannies, and more - I could just about kick myself for not trying Domela&#039;s approach.&lt;/p&gt;
